CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). The CE marking is also found on products sold outside the EEA that have been manufactured to EEA standards.

CE marking gives companies easier access into the European market to sell their products without adaptation or rechecking. The initials "CE" do not stand for any specific words but are a declaration by the manufacturer that his product meets the requirements of the applicable European Directive(s).

The directives cover a very wide range of product areas including toys, medical devices and pressure equipment. Their primary objective is to ensure that the products are well designed, and safe for the user.

Module B (mentioned in point #1 above) covers the product’s design phase.

Module D (mentioned in point #1 above) covers the examination of the conformity to type based on quality assurance of the production process(manufacturing and assessment of the end-product).

The SCORKL is a safe and reliable product however it is important to realise that the SCORKL is not a toy.
